How do I plan a fishing camping trip in Canada?

Friday, May 28th, 2010
sassylassy asked:

My boyfriend and I would like to, sometime this summer, go to Nova Scotia, and go one a fly fishing trip. I am not a fisher myself, but love the outdoors and I have always wanted to go camping, tent and everything! I need some advice on how to go about planning. Can you rent tents? How do you find a place to camp near lakes, rivers, etc.

dnbdubv asked:

I’m going camping in the west virginia hills this weekend and my girlfriend insists I bring a firearm to protect us from both wildlife and humans(I have my CC permit). But i only have a 40 s&w. What would be the best style of ammo to bring? I can’t find a such thing as 40 hunting ammo and don’t know if i should take fmj for penetration in case of a large animal or jhp for more knock down power. any suggestions?

Where can I find top of the line survival/camping equipment?

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010
fudge_berry666 asked:

I’m planning a back-packing hike into the Rio Grande region. What equipment would be best to take for this trip? I plan on being out there with my camera for two weeks. I need quality camping items that will not rip, shred, tear, or break. If you can provide a website link to a camping store, that would be wonderful!

What is it like camping at the bottom of the grand canyon?

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010
april_hwth asked:

I am determined to get to the bottom of the grand canyon. What is it like carrying all that stuff down there? Does the duffel service carry tents? There is no lodging available at Phantom Ranch for hikers until next October. We want to go this Spring. My husband is not crazy about camping. Should we just do some day hikes and not worry about getting to the bottom?

The Los Angeles Summer Camp Experience

Monday, May 24th, 2010
Eric D. Naftulin asked:

Los Angeles is rich with a host of summer camp opportunities for your child. An increasing trend among Los Angeles families is to send their kids to several summer camps over the course of the summer, versus the traditional way of picking a single camp alone.

A confluence of factors — principally, kids’ diverse interests plus an increasing array of available specialty camps and flexible enrollment packages offered by Los Angeles area camps — has fueled this trend. And for your son or daughter, it’s a pretty good deal!

By attending a variety of summer camps rather than just one, your child can enjoy many different experiences which would otherwise be unavailable to them. And there’s definitely no shortage among available camps in Los Angeles!

A recent online search revealed the following types of summer camps (among others) in metropolitan L.A. alone: Surf camps, beach camps, science camps, technology camps, music camps, acting camps, Jewish camps, cooking camps, space camps, horseback riding camps, academic camps, rock star camps, nature camps, entrepreneurship camps and traditional camps.

Remember, this is just a partial list!

If you’re considering a Los Angeles summer camp for your child this summer — or if you’re considering more than one — here’s how to discover what’s available.

A great place to start is by asking your friends for recommendations. Assuming they’ve got kids of their own, your friends can usually direct you to some of the more popular Los Angeles summer camps. The internet is also a wonderful resource, because it offers numerous camp-specific Web sites that allow you to filter your camp search by geography, camp type, and other criteria to suit your needs.

For example, LA Summer Camps.com and LA Surf Camps.com are two great places to start.

Here’s hoping your child enjoys many safe and fun camp experiences this year. With so many available opportunities, there is surely a multitude of Los Angeles summer camp options designed to meet your needs!

How much milk to buy for a camping trip?

Monday, May 24th, 2010
steffie_00us asked:

We are going camping and there will be a total of 12 kids and 5 adults and will be camping Friday night until Sunday late morning. We are having cereal and bagels as an option for two breakfasts. How much milk should we get? I think 2 gallons but some one else said 5 gallons. I think 5 is way too much.
